Our Philanthropy

Updated: Thrusday, July 31, 2008

This past April the Delta Omicron Chapter received the 2008 Outstanding Chapter Service award for its dedication to Service, one of the four pillars upon which the Kappa Sigma Fraternity is founded.

At the University of Montana the Kappa Sigmas are involved in community service both on and off the UM campus.

Every year the Chapter participates in “Take Back the Night”, a march from campus to the Missoula courthouse that concludes in a rally downtown. The purpose of this rally is to stand in unison to protest all forms of violence against women.

Kappa Sigma participates annually in Relay for Life, which is an event that fundraises money for cancer research.

Currently the Chapter is collaborating with our brothers to the north at the University of Leftbridge chapter. In Spring 2009 many Kappa Sigma chapters across the northwest will travel to Canada to participate in the longest baseball game ever recorded. The Guiness Book of World Records will be invited to audit the contest and enter the results in their annual journal. All proceeds from sponsorships and donations will go to charitable causes to be determined at a later date.
