Relay For Life

Relay For Life is a fundraising event of the American Cancer Society that brings together members of the community to show support for cancer survivors. It is an overnight event designated to spread awareness of cancer prevention, treatments and cures, and celebrates survivorship and raise money for research to find more cures for cancer. Relay for Life is the world's largest fundraising walk. In 2007, Relay For Life raised over $405 million for cancer research.

Each year members of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity form a group, usually 5-8 men, who lead the charge to raise money and donate their time for the Relay For Life event. These men walk the Oval throughout the night on shifts, while other members sleep. Other Chapter members are called upon to make donations for the event, and last year the Delta-Omicron Chapter raised over $300 that was given to Relay for Life.
