Committees
Its easy to get involved with the chapter. Once you are a chapter member, you will have the opportunity to participate in any of the chapter committees. With diligence and hard work, members will receive benefits and experience that will prove valuable for future success.
While each committee is diverse from other committees, each plays an intricate role in making Kappa Sigma the number one fraternity at the University of Montana.
Below is a list of committees and a description of each. If you are interested in applying for one of the committees, please contact President Mike Campbell.
Assistant Vice President- Support
The Assistant Vice President of Support works closely with the Vice President of Support in writing press releases, updating the Chapter website, and communications with Nationals.
Assistant Vice President- Finances
The Assistant Vice President of Finances works closely with the Vice President of Finances in assessing the budget, collecting dues, and communications with Nationals.
Fund Raising Committee
The Fund Raising Committee develops, organizes, and executes fundraising activities throughout the year. This committee also performs all marketing and advertising for our fund raising events.
Historical Committee
The Historical Committee organizes all historical documents for the chapter like photos, agendas and minutes. This committee also maintains a log of accurate alumni contact information and publishes the Missoula Docet (alumni and donor newsletter) to alumni and other recipients.
Rush Committee
The Rush Committee is in charge of developing rush events for the chapter and expanding rush operations taken on by the chapter. The Rush Committee works closely with the Social Committee and the Executive Committee.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee will work closely with the Vice President of Administration to ensure each member succeeds in their academics. This committee develops and revises educational activities within in the chapter, operates study tables and audits mid-semester grade checks for all members.
Service Committee
The Service Committee will be in charge of developing and organizing service events for the Chapter. This committee will work closely with the Vice President of Support in publishing events in local news outlets and assist members through the process of logging service hours on our national website.
Social Committee
The Social Committee prepares Rush events and develops our social events throughout the year with sororities. This committee is also in charge of preparing the 'Days of Thunder,' our senior games.
Standards Committee
The Standards Committee works closely with the Vice President of Administration to ensure the quality of the Chapter, holding hearings of members accused of acting in a manner unbecoming of a gentleman. The Standards Committee also reviews and takes up all complaints and hold judicial cases. Committee members must a good understanding of our Risk Management policies.
